The Popular Resistance Committees in Palestine, along with their military wing, the al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, called for broad national coordination to foil the “suspicious occupation schemes aimed at managing the Gaza Strip by foreign powers,” emphasizing that the future of the Strip is “solely an internal Palestinian matter to be decided by our people through national consensus.”
In a statement on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of their founding, the Resistance Committees warned of Israeli-American schemes aimed at dividing the region and forcing it into conflicts to put an end to the Palestinian cause. They urged the nation and its elites to adopt “unified awareness to dismantle these suspicious policies.”
The statement also affirmed that the sacrifices of the people during Al-Aqsa Flood only strengthen the determination to continue resistance in Gaza and across all Palestinian territories, stressing that the path to liberation is long and requires the combined efforts of both field and political unity.
The statement highlighted the role of the martyred leader Jamal Abu Samhadana (Abu Ataya) and his comrades in consolidating resistance actions and igniting Palestinian anger through the operations of the al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, which have enriched the cause and etched it deeper in the consciousness of the nation.
The committees extended a salute of pride and reverence to the patient Palestinian people in Gaza and wherever they reside, noting that they will remain loyal to the people’s sacrifices and continue to carry the banner of resistance until freedom, return, land reclamation, and purification of the holy sites from occupation are achieved.
They concluded by pledging to the public and the martyrs to tread the path of Jamal Abu Samhadana and his comrades, affirming that victory and liberation are inevitable, and that Palestine, from its river to its sea, will be liberated by the efforts of the people’s fighters and the support of freedom-fighting allies in Yemen, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and whosoever stands with the Palestinian cause.
It is noteworthy that the Popular Resistance Committees, a Palestinian faction, emerged with the outbreak of the Second Intifada on September 28, 2000. Through its military wing, the al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, it carried out numerous commando operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, the most notable of which was the “Flag Ambush.”
