Member of the Loyalty to the Resistance bloc in the Lebanese Parliament, MP Hassan Ezzeddine, stated on Thursday that the Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon has targeted civilian homes, adding that the escalation demands an official response from the Lebanese state.
Speaking to Al Mayadeen, Ezzeddine said the United States is the primary force behind the scenarios being carried out by the "Israeli" military in the region.
He stressed that Thursday's significant escalation places the Lebanese government, presidency, and state institutions before their responsibilities, urging unity and a bold national stance capable of deterring further aggression.

Lebanon’s right to defend its people and sovereignty
Ezzeddine emphasized that the "Israeli" targeting does not distinguish between Lebanese citizens, as all of Lebanon is being targeted within the framework of a broader expansionist project.
He affirmed Lebanon’s absolute right to defend its people, land, and sovereignty, a right, he said, that does not require permission from any external party.
Earlier in the day, the "Israeli" occupation army launched a series of airstrikes on several southern Lebanese towns and villages, including Taybeh, Aita al-Jabal, Tair Debba, Zottar al-Sharqiyah, and Kfardounin.
A prior strike on the town of Tura left one person martyred and three others wounded. The outskirts of al-Abbassiyeh were also targeted.
Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that the "Israeli" army also opened machine-gun fire from the "Miskav Am" site toward nearby Lebanese towns.
The Israeli ceasefire with Lebanon officially took effect on 27 November 2024. Since then, Israeli occupation forces have violated the deal over 3,000 times.
