Resistance seeks revenge amid 'Israel's' regional war crimes: IRGC
Iranian military advisor Milad Bidi was martyred in Beirut from an Israeli strike, a day before Hamas' Haniyeh was assassinated in Tehran.
"Israel's" recent war crimes in the region evoked wrath among Resistance fighters to seek revenge against the occupation, Iran's Major General Hossein Salami said on Thursday.
The statement by the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) was made during a commemoration of Milad Bidi, an Iranian military advisor martyred in Lebanon during an Israeli assassination operation targeting a senior Hezbollah commander.
Bidi was in Haret Hreik, Beirut's Southern Suburbs when he was martyred by an Israeli strike that targeted a residential building accommodating the Lebanese Resistance's commander Fouad Shokor.
Salami praised Bidi for his contributions to defending the Islamic Revolution while maintaining the country’s security and ensuring peace in the face of enemy threats.
The chief commander highlighted Bidi’s commitment to supporting resistance fighters against the “oppressive, criminal, and occupying” Israeli regime, which would be commemorated and serve as an inspiration for the Iranian youth.
Ismail Haniyeh assassinated in airstrike on Tehran residence
The Islamic Revolution Guard Corps in Iran announces the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, alongside one of his guards in Tehran.
Hamas confirmed the martyrdom of the Hamas leader, noting that the head of the political bureau was killed in a "treacherous Zionist airstrike on his residence in Tehran."
Iran's IRGC later said, "We are studying the dimensions of the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas' political bureau, and will announce the results of the investigation later."
The leader of the Islamic Revolution and Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei, affirmed, following the assassination of the head of Hamas' Political Bureau, martyr Ismail Haniyeh, that the Israeli occupation "brought upon itself the most severe punishment."
Sayyed Khamenei stressed that retribution for Haniyeh's blood is "Iran's duty because he was martyred on our soil," adding that Haniyeh's assassination, who was a guest in Iran, "also set the ground for [the enemy's] harsh punishment upon itself."
Speaking about the martyred leader, Sayyed Khamenei said Haniyeh dedicated his life to the struggle [for liberation], was ready for martyrdom, and sacrificed his children on this path, noting that the "great Resistance Front is in mourning."
Consequently, Iran announced a three-day mourning period.
