Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Secretary, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, stated that a new resistance movement will be formed in Syria as Israeli forces exploit the post-government collapse turmoil to expand their occupation of Syrian territory.
“Day by day, we will witness that the people of Syria will liberate their country,” Ahmadian said during the Great Prophet 19 military exercises in Kerman on Friday.
Following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime, Israeli forces moved into the demilitarized zone between "Israel" and Syria and seized strategic positions in southern Syria.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Tuesday that satellite imagery revealed Israeli troop deployments along the Syrian border, showing that the Israeli military has established at least seven new outposts.
These positions extend from the Syrian side of Mount Hermon in the northern part of the demilitarized zone to Tel Kudna in the south, near the occupied Palestine-Syria-Jordan border triangle.
The newly established bases are located in Mount Hermon, Hader, Jubata al-Khashab, al-Hamidiyah, Quneitra, al-Qahtaniyah, and Tel Kudna.
'Resistance is born anew'
Ahmadian also slammed the Israeli illusion of small successes in a war as equal to victory and the failure of the Resistance, emphasizing, on the contrary, that the Israeli occupation has failed to secure any real victories throughout its 15-month war on Gaza, suffering severe losses instead.
“Israel is now occupying defenseless Syria and this is not a victory,” Ahmadian said, adding "From the occupation of Syria today, a new resistance will emerge in this land."
Highlighting the global expansion of Resistance movements, Ahmadian noted that people of conscience worldwide have rallied behind the Resistance front in response to Israeli atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza.
He underscored that resistance is not limited to any single war or period, emphasizing that the enemy is drained by a deeply rooted culture of resistance that cannot be eliminated.
"The enemy has become desperate with the culture of resistance," he said, adding, "the Resistance has proven that it is not finite, but rather, it is born anew."
