The deputy head of the Russian Defense Ministry's Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, Yurii Popov, confirmed that the Russian air force has eliminated two bases belonging to the Al-Tanf militants sheltering in mountainous areas of Syria's Homs on Saturday.
"Russian air strikes destroyed two places of deployment of militants who left the Al-Tanf zone and were hiding in hard-to-reach areas of the Amor mountain range in the Homs province," Popov said in his statement.
His statement added that nine violations in Al-Tanf by two pairs of F-15 fighter jets, two Eurofighter Typhoons, two A-10 Thunderbolts, and a MC-12W reconnaissance aircraft have been recorded by the Russian military over the past 24 hours.
Last month, Popov said that the Russian air force neutralized 11 identified terrorist bases in Syria that had previously vacated the Al-Tanf zone and sought cover in hard-to-reach mountainous areas in Deir Ez-Zor.
