Rear Adm. Oleg Gurinov, the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria, said on Wednesday that its forces used high-precision strikes to eliminate illegal armed formations in the Idlib de-escalation zone, resulting in the destruction of several command posts, ammunition depots, and 18 militants.

"In order to stop the ongoing attempts of illegal armed groups from the Idlib de-escalation zone using UAVs to attack settlements located on the territory controlled by the authorities of the Syrian Arab Republic in the provinces of Idlib and Latakia, high strikes were carried out on June 27 against militant targets in the Sarjah area in the Idlib de-escalation zone," Gurinov told a briefing.

A Russian / Syrian air raid destroyed a HTS underground base south-east of Sarjah village in Idlib province.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced earlier today that the armed forces, in cooperation with the Russian forces, conducted a decisive airstrike against the fortified headquarters of terrorist organizations in the Jabal Al-Arbaeen area in the Idlib countryside.

The Ministry of Defense said that the airstrike comes in response to the "recurrent attacks carried out by terrorist organizations on civilians in safe residential areas in Hama countryside."

The Ministry added in its statement that the strikes targeted storage piles of weapons, ammunition, guidance tools, drones, and espionage equipment, killing and wounding tens of terrorists in the process.
