According to the Russian Defense Ministry Spokesperson Igor Konashenkov, Russia's armed forces shot down 12 drones, including 3 Bayraktar combat drones in the last 24 hours in Ukraine.

Konashenkov told reporters that "[The Russian air foces] have hit one Ukrainian Mi-24 and one Mi-8 helicopter, as well as 12 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, including three Bayraktar TB2s, in the air."

Over the same time period, air forces destroyed 46 Ukrainian military structures, including a division of S-300 air defense systems used by Ukrainian soldiers, added the official.

Russia has destroyed 181 aircraft and helicopters, 172 unmanned aerial vehicles, 170 anti-aircraft missile systems, 1379 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 133 multiple launch rocket systems, 514 field artillery guns and mortars, and 1168 units of special military equipment since the operation began.

The DPR representative officer in the Joint Center for Control and Coordination of the ceasefire regime (JCCC) stated that Ukrainian troops shelled two settlements in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) within 15 minutes and fired 14 122-millimeter shells.

The communities of Krasny Partizan and Yasinovataya were shelled. Six rounds were fired at Krasny Partizan, while eight were fired at Yasinovataya.

Ukrainian military shelling kills 2 civilians in DPR

Ukrainian military shelling has hit a residential building in Vasylivka, according to the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Territorial Defense Headquarters on Wednesday, noting that some civilians are still under the wreckage.

The shelling resulted in the death of two civilians according to the DPR representative office in Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC).

The authority wrote on Telegram, "As a result of the shelling by Ukrainian military in Vasylivka ... Ukrainian ammunition hit a residential building ... people are under the rubble, at least two are without signs of life. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene of the shelling."

On Sunday, the Republic's Envoy to the JCCC reported that during the 25 days of warfare in the DPR, 26 people have been killed and 174 others were injured.

It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the goal of the special military operation is to protect people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years.

On March 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the status of the DPR and LPR, which he called "pseudo-republics", is only recognized by Russia and called for a discussion and compromise on "how these territories will live on."
