Ukrainian military shelling kills 2 civilians in DPR
Ukrainian military shelling has hit a residential building in Vasylivka, according to the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Territorial Defense Headquarters on Wednesday, noting that some civilians are still under the wreckage.
The shelling resulted in the death of two civilians according to the DPR representative office in Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC).
The authority wrote on Telegram, "As a result of the shelling by Ukrainian military in Vasylivka ... Ukrainian ammunition hit a residential building ... people are under the rubble, at least two are without signs of life. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the scene of the shelling."
On Sunday, the Republic's Envoy to the JCCC reported that during the 25 days of warfare in the DPR, 26 people have been killed and 174 others were injured.
It is noteworthy that Russian President Vladimir Putin has declared that the goal of the special military operation is to protect people who have been subjected to genocide by the Kiev regime for the past eight years.
On March 8, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that the status of the DPR and LPR, which he called "pseudo-republics", is only recognized by Russia and called for a discussion and compromise on "how these territories will live on."
