Sanaa security services expose Saudi role in Yemen assassinations
The video showcased how Yemeni security services monitored and tracked down the perpetrators of the assassination of Yemeni Youth and Sports Minister Hassan Zaid who was assassinated in 2020.
The official media branch of the Sanaa government's security services published a video titled "In the security force's grip", revealing details of one of the most successful counter-operations carried out by the Yemeni security services against the plots of the Saudi intelligence services.
The video uncovered new information regarding the assassination of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hassan Zaid, who was shot by an assailant riding a motorcycle while driving his car in Sanaa back in 2020.
According to the information presented in the video, the assassination was carried out by individuals taking orders from the Saudi intelligence services.

The security media revealed that the mercenaries Muhammad Ali al-Maqdashi and Fadel Hussein al-Masqari played an important role "as two main elements who took over the formation of two sabotage cells. The first was assigned to Tariq Al-Ghazali, known as Tariq al-Badani al-Ghazali, to open a front in Baadan, Ibb Governorate, to destabilize the security of the homefront.
The second cell "carried out assassinations and assassination attempts against a number of social and official figures in Sanaa, Ibb, and Dhamar," the security media added.

Cells to destabilize security in Baadan, Ibb governorate
The footage revealed the assignment of Tariq Al-Ghazali to form a terror cell tasked with destabilizing the Ibb governorate, and also exposed the money transfer mechanism and the purchase and dispatch of weapons with the aim of igniting the military situation in the Baadan region in the governorate.

Assassinations to cause strife inside Yemen
According to the video, Saudi intelligence directed its members to “carry out assassinations targeting national figures opposed to the aggression.”
The video showed that another “cell was formed under the leadership of the so-called Muhammad Ali Ahmed Al-Hanash,” and it was entrusted with carrying out “assassinations in the governorates of Dhamar and Ibb and the capital Sanaa," noting that the last task was to assassinate the minister Hassan Zaid.
The security services also revealed that "within hours after the operation, the security agencies secured detailed information about the operation," adding that "a security force raided the hideouts of several cell members in the capital Sanaa on that day, which resulted in killing the perpetrators of the crime in Dhamar Governorate."

In addition, "the head of the cell was eliminated in a clash with the security services in a subsequent operation during his attempted flight towards the occupied territories," the security media confirmed.
The video also reveals the mystery of two assassinations that took place in Dhamar Governorate, one of which targeted Abdullah Al-Salami, and an attempt to assassinate Professor Abdul-Karim Al-Habsi, who survived after being seriously wounded.
Another failed assassination attempt that targeted the deputy governor of Ibb Abd al-Wahed al-Maroui was also uncovered by the video while documenting the names of cell members that were tasked to monitor governmental officials and patriotic anti-Saudi-led coalition figures.
The video stresses "the role of mercenaries, in enabling foreign intelligence to recruit spies to serve the aggression against their country without scruples or conscience."

The Minister of Youth and Sports in the Sanaa government, Hassan Zaid, was assassinated on October 27 in 2020, in Hadda Tunnel south of the capital Sanaa.
On that day, the security services indicated that two armed men on a motorcycle fired at the Yemeni minister and his daughter which resulted in his death while his daughter was injured and is still receiving treatment.
At that time, the Ministry of Interior in Sanaa accused "criminal elements affiliated with the [Saudi-led coalition] aggression" of assassinating the minister.
