Saudi Arabia signs strategic localization deal with Turkey's Baykar
According to the Saudi Defense Ministry, the agreement is a continuation of the acquisition contracts signed with Baykar to enhance Saudi Arabia's defense and manufacturing capabilities.
Saudi Arabia's state-owned defense firm SAMI announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Sunday that it signed a strategic agreement with private Turkish defense company Baykar to localize the manufacturing of "Bayraktar Akıncı" combat drones.

The Saudi company further said that the agreement is a continuation of the acquisition contracts signed by the Saudi Defense Ministry with Baykar to enhance Saudi Arabia's defense and manufacturing capabilities.

During a visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to the Gulf country in July, Baykar and Saudi Arabia's Defense Ministry signed a partnership agreement and acquisition contracts.
Baykar's CEO Haluk Bayraktar said that the $5 billion to $7 billion agreement included the export of Bayraktar Akinci drones.
