Seven civilians injured in Israeli aggression on Syria
The Israeli occupation targeted several sites in the central region of Syria.
Seven civilians were injured as a result of Israeli aggression that targeted several sites in the central region. The Syrian air defenses intercepted the aggression's missiles and shot down some of them.
“At around 7:35 pm today, the Israeli enemy launched an air aggression from the direction of northern Lebanon, targeting several sites in the central region. Our air defense systems confronted the aggression’s missiles and shot down some of them," a Syrian military source stated.
He added, "The aggression resulted in the injury of civilians and material losses."
Earlier, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that Syrian air defenses were confronting Israeli aggression in the Homs countryside, with sounds of explosions heard in northern Bekaa, Lebanon, before adding that loud explosions were heard over the city of Homs and its northern countryside.
Earlier this month, on August 9, Israeli occupation forces launched an airstrike from northern Lebanon, targeting several military positions in Syria's central region, namely Homs.
According to a Syrian military source, the attack resulted in the injury of four soldiers and caused limited material damage.
The Syrian military condemned the aggression, describing it as a blatant violation of its sovereignty.
The aggression came after Israeli war jets launched a series of airstrikes on August 2, targeting towns on the Lebanese Syrian borders.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported Israeli aggression on the outskirts of the town of Hosh al-Sayyid Ali in Bekaa and the countryside of al-Qusayr.
This came shortly after after a similar airstrike also targeted the Hosh al-Sayyid Ali area. Border villages of Zaita and Matraba were also bombarded.
