Source reveals identity of involved in Ain Al-Hilweh assassination
Fatah movement official Mounir Al-Maqdah says there is an official Lebanese-Palestinian agreement on the importance of a ceasefire and following up on Al-Armoushi's assassination.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent cited a Palestinian source as confirming the involvement of Bilal Badr -- an extremist residing in Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in Saida, South Lebanon, with his militant group -- in the assassination of the commander of the Palestinian National Security Forces in Saida, Abu Ashraf Al-Armoushi and his four companions, an event that sparked the recent clashes.
On Wednesday, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that calm still prevails on the camp's fronts, after the implementation of a ceasefire under the supervision of the Palestinian Joint Action Committee on Tuesday night. Nonetheless, some violations of the ceasefire were recorded, as gunfire and shelling sounds were heard intermittently.
Fatah movement official Mounir Al-Maqdah confirmed to Al Mayadeen that there is an official Lebanese-Palestinian agreement on the importance of a ceasefire and following up on Al-Armoushi's assassination.
Al-Maqdah warned that there is a fierce attack on Palestinian camps and the refugee issue in Lebanon, pointing out that those threatening the camp's stability are possibly elements hired by foreign sides.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Palestinian Action Committee considered Al-Armoushi's assassination a criminal act that serves the agendas of the Zionist occupation that targets all Palestinians.
A couple of days ago, clashes broke out in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp between the Fatah movement and extremist militants after an assassination attempt that targeted Abu Qatada, an official of one of the camp's militant groups. The clashes intensified after the assassination of Al-Armoushi and four of his companions.
An official from the Fatah movement told Al Mayadeen's correspondent that Al-Armoushi's assassination had been planned in advance, adding that the main premise to the solution in Ain Al-Hilweh is the extradition of the one who assassinated the leader.
The clashes resulted in 10 deaths more than 60 injuries, and the displacement of thousands of families, in addition to massive property damage.
