Sources to Al Mayadeen: IOF repress PIJ prisoners in Al-Naqab prison
Sources say PIJ prisoners are about to take some steps in protest of the Israeli violations, which may lead to "an exploding" situation.
Private sources inside Israeli occupation prisons told Al Mayadeen TV that prisoners of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) movement in Al-Naqab prison were subjected to a campaign of arbitrary searches and repression by the Israeli prisons administration.
The sources indicated that the prisons administration transferred PIJ prisoners from section 24 to section 21 of Al-Naqab prison and reduced the number of rooms in which the movement's prisoners are held to only two, which aggravated the suffering of the prisoners and created a state of overcrowding inside the rooms.
The sources stressed that PIJ prisoners "reject this repressive step," noting that they are about to take some steps in protest of the Israeli violations, which may lead to "an exploding" situation at the level of all Israeli occupation prisons if the Israeli prisons administration continues its intransigence to respond to the prisoners' demands.
This latest escalation comes in light of the ongoing campaign of arbitrary searches conducted against PIJ prisoners from time to time, ever since Operation Freedom Tunnel, where six Palestinian prisoners briefly liberated themselves from the Gilboa Prison in September 2021.
It is noteworthy that last week, PIJ prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, elected prisoner Anas Jaradat as the general president of the Supreme Emergency Committee for Palestinian Prisoners of the PIJ prisoners for the 2023-2025 session.
The 2023-2025 session bore the name of the martyred captive Sheikh Khader Adnan, who was martyred during the Battle of Empty Stomachs last May.
