Strike against Iraqi PMF kills at least 3, US claims responsibility
Following an Israeli attack on Beirut's southern suburbs, reports emerged of an explosion and possible airstrike on Jurf al-Sakhr, with the US admitting a self-defense strike in Iraq targeting Popular Mobilization Forces.
Shortly after the Israeli occupation forces conducted an act of aggression against the southern Suburb of Beirut, Al Mayadeen's sources reported that sounds of an explosion were heard, amid speculations about an airstrike and an attack on the Jurf al-Sakhr area, north of Babylon.
According to the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces, units belonging to the 47th Brigade in the al-Jazeera Operations, Jurf al-Nasr area, were subjected to aggression which resulted in several martyrs and injuries.
In turn, Al Mayadeen bureau chief in Baghdad reported that sources confirm that the Resistance has evidence that the aggression was conducted with US drones. The bureau chief further emphasized that the aggression targeted radars and warning systems in the Jurf al-Nasr area.
In a similar context, Secretary-General of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq Sheikh Qais al-Khazali noted that the aggression on the southern suburbs of Beirut confirms the enemy's ongoing policy of tyranny, adding that "these attacks reveal the unity of the enemy's agenda, its brutality, and its disregard."
Al-Khazali further reaffirmed that "our firm stance on the unity of Resistance fronts in confronting the common enemy and our readiness to make sacrifices in defense of our sanctities and dignity."

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the strike was carried out because of a "threat to US-led coalition forces."
