Syria: 4 martyrs and injuries in Israeli aggression on Iran consulate
On Monday, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad headed a delegation and visited the Iranian embassy to check on the staff's safety following the Israeli aggression.
Syrian Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghobash has announced that the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus caused the death of 4 Syrian martyrs and 13 were wounded.
This is in addition to the martyrdom of seven advisors from Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC), including the commander of the Quds Force in Lebanon and Syria, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi.
On Monday, Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad headed a delegation and visited the Iranian embassy to check on the staff's safety following the Israeli aggression.
From the embassy, he held a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian to offer his country's condolences, unwavering support, and commitment to mutual ties.
During the call, Amir-Abdollahian held "Israel" responsible for the consequences of its crimes and stressed that the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus is "a breach of all international conventions."

For his part, the Iranian ambassador to Damascus, Hussein Akbari, confirmed to Al Mayadeen, “This is the reality of the Zionist entity, which does not respect any international norms and laws.”
Akbari pointed out that the occupation was carrying out "inhumane acts," stressing that support for the resistance would remain unwavering, and that the country will “remain alongside the resistance and remain unconcerned about the actions of this Zionist entity.”

Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Nasser Kanaani strongly condemned the Israeli attack on its consulate in Damascus, which left several people martyred and injured.
Kanaani considered this offensive attack as a gross violation of international regulations, especially the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, adding that the Israeli aggression should be condemned in the strongest terms by the international community and the United Nations.
He also maintained that necessary action should be taken against the aggressor.
Raisi: Israeli attack on consulate in Syria will 'not go unanswered'
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council, chaired by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, convened last night and announced the adoption of necessary decisions in response to "another war crime committed by Israel."
Today, in the first announcement following the meeting, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi called the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Syria's Damascus, a "new terrorist crime" and considered it a "violation of international resolutions."
Raisi also stressed that "the Zionists must know that they will not achieve their goals" reaffirming that the "crime of attacking the consulate in Damascus will not go unanswered."
Moreover, Raisi paid tribute to the martyrs, highlighting that "Martyrs Mohammad Reza Zahedi and Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi were heroes of the Holy Defense," and had been serving in Syria as "senior consultants".
