Several Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) terrorists were killed and injured after the Syrian Army launched two drone strikes in the country's northwest as part of its efforts to combat the remainder of terrorist cells in Syria.

The drone strikes targeted a gathering of terrorists and successfully killed several of them while injuring several others in Khirbet al-Naqous, northern Lattakia countryside.

No official figures on the exact number of casualties have been released thus far.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense has been intensifying its anti-terror operations in recent weeks, releasing on Sunday footage of several "top-tier and concentrated operations" conducted against terrorist organizations, in the countryside of Idlib and Lattakia.

These operations came in response to several continued breaches and violations attributed to militant terror groups in the aforementioned regions. Anti-armor units of the Syrian Arab Army are seen launching several anti-tank guided missiles at several positions directly targeting militants and their vehicles, as well as barricaded positions that they had set up.

The footage also shows the targeting of a tower used by militants as an observation and monitoring post.

In a separate statement, the Syrian Ministry of Defense said that its forces downed and destroyed a total of seven unmanned aerial vehicles, including reconnaissance drones and suicide drones, in the countryside of Idlib and Hama.

The Ministry explained that terror groups have launched several recent attacks on Syrian towns and villages, adding that its operations come in response to these attacks. The Syrian military's response led to the killing of dozens of terrorists and wounded several others.

The Syrian Arab Army has been launching dozens of operations against positions of terror groups, specifically the al-Nusra-affiliated HTS and the Turkistan Islamic Party in Syria, since the turn of the year.

Confrontations break out in Deir Ezzor

Al Mayadeen's sources affirmed on Wednesday the martyrdom of a person and injury of three others following a strike on the town of Mayadin in the Deir Ezzor countryside in eastern Syria.

The sources revealed that Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) militants were behind the bombing, as they clashed with tribal fighters by the Euphrates River near the Mayadin Bridge. International coalition drone activity was also reported in the vicinity, coinciding with the clashes and the bombing.

Two weeks ago, clashes between the SDF and tribal fighters were renewed, after so-called Syrian Democratic Forces shelled the village of Baqras in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, on the western bank of the Euphrates River in eastern Syria, with mortar shells.

An Al Mayadeen correspondent mentioned that the SDF targeted the village with heavy machine guns, resulting in injuries among the residents of the village controlled by the Syrian state.

He pointed out that the shelling coincided with a fierce attack by Arab tribal forces on SDF positions in the town of Diban, in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

According to our correspondent, the tribal forces also targeted the general command headquarters of the SDF in the town of al-Busayrah, in the northern countryside of Deir Ezzor, with hand grenades.

Earlier on Tuesday, several SDF members were killed and others were injured in separate attacks carried out by tribal forces in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and Turkish drones that targeted several SDF locations and vehicles in the city of Qamishli, in the al-Hasakah province.

The Arab tribal forces attacked several SDF headquarters in the towns of al-Shaafah, al-Shheel, Diban, and al-Hawayej in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, in addition to the towns of al-Jnenah and al-Harmoushiah n its western countryside.

Meanwhile, sources confirmed to Al Mayadeen Net the killing of six SDF members in an attack carried out by gunmen believed to be affiliated with tribal forces in the town of al-Shaafah, in addition to the killing of two other members in similar attacks in the town of al-Hawayej.
