Tehran to Implement New Strategy for Nuclear Negotiations
Jalalzadeh affirms that Iran will utilize a new strategy when resuming Nuclear Negotiations.
Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Vahid Jalalzadeh confirmed on Saturday that his country will resume nuclear talks with the 4+1 group with a new strategy which "compels the West to fulfill its obligations."
The top Iranian diplomat affirmed that his country attempted different methods of negotiations, adding that the status of negotiations in President Ibrahim Raisi's government must be clarified before designating the negotiating team.
A possible resumption of talks
On his account, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh reassured the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) that all of his country’s actions took place within the framework of the nuclear agreement, noting that the boost in enrichment came in response to the violations of the agreement by several parties, notably the three European parties involved.
In the same context, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov advised his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian that talks on the Iranian nuclear deal in Vienna should resume as soon as possible.
The European Union spoke of a possible resumption of talks in early September, while Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi welcomed efforts to lift US sanctions that stifle his country's economy.
