Trump: 'Make the deal in Gaza; get the hostages back'
Trump links US aid to "Israel" with its internal legal battles, denouncing the prosecution of Netanyahu while reportedly pushing for swift action on a Gaza ceasefire.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday renewed his call for a ceasefire deal in Gaza and the return of Israeli captives, while sharply criticizing the Israeli judiciary over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ongoing corruption trial.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared: “Make the deal in Gaza, bring back the hostages!!!” His statement followed an earlier message urging an end to Netanyahu’s trial, stating: “Netanyahu's prosecutors have gone out of control. We won't tolerate this, they're hurting our victory.”
Netanyahu, indicted in 2019 on charges of bribery, fraud, and breach of trust, is scheduled to testify on Monday. His legal team had requested a postponement due to security concerns following a recent 12-day conflict with Iran, but the court rejected the motion.
Trump sharply rebuked the judicial process, labeling it “INSANITY” and accusing the prosecutors of obstructing Netanyahu’s ability to negotiate with both Hamas and Iran. “It is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump wrote.
Describing the trial as a “POLITICAL WITCH HUNT,” Trump compared it to his own legal battles in the US, ridiculing the charges linked to luxury gifts and media influence.
“LET BIBI GO, HE’S GOT A BIG JOB TO DO!” Trump declared.
US support tied to Israeli judicial actions
Linking his criticism to American financial backing of "Israel," Trump stated: “The United States of America spends Billions of Dollar [sic] a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this.”
He further claimed Netanyahu was pursuing a deal with Hamas but did not provide additional details.
Trump has expressed recent optimism, telling reporters a ceasefire in Gaza was “close". However, progress remains elusive. While Hamas has expressed readiness to release the remaining captives in return for a permanent end to the war, "Israel" insists that any truce must include the disarmament and dismantling of Hamas, terms that the group rejects.
Calls for an agreement have intensified following joint US-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, escalating fears of a broader regional war. The urgency to secure a ceasefire has grown amid this backdrop of heightened military activity and diplomatic strain.
Hamas blames Netanyahu for negotiations collapse
Hamas announced on June 25 that it remains engaged with mediators and open to negotiations but stressed that any agreement must guarantee three key demands: an immediate end to aggression, a lasting ceasefire, and the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza.
The Palestinian faction accused the Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, of obstructing international mediation efforts, while Gaza continues to endure a suffocating siege and unrelenting bombardment, in a war that began on October 7, 2023, and has since killed tens of thousands of Palestinians, displaced nearly the entire population, and reduced much of the territory to ruins.
