Former US President Donald Trump on Sunday called for the termination of his country's constitution in a bid to overturn the presidential elections he lost in 2020 against incumbent President Joe Biden amid claims of voter fraud, stressing that he should be reinstated as President.

The call for the termination of the constitution came in a post the former President made on his Truth Social social media app.

"Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION?" the post read. "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution."

He also went on to accuse Big Tech of cooperating with Democrats, stressing that "Our great 'Founders' did not want, and would not condone, False & Fraudulent Elections!"

The Truth Social post came in the wake of the "Twitter Files", emails published by Twitter CEO Elon Musk showing deliberation in 2020 over a New York Post story about certain materials and files found on Hunter Biden's laptop.

The contents of the laptop were first reported on by the New York Post ahead of the 2020 US presidential election and were dismissed at the time by the Biden campaign, as well as a number of US intelligence figures and media outlets, as part of a "Russian disinformation" operation aimed at re-electing Donald Trump. Major social media platforms, such as Twitter and Facebook, have prohibited the sharing of laptop-based reports.

Commenting on Trump's post, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said the former president's remarks were "anathema to the soul of our nation and should be universally condemned."

"You cannot only love America when you win," the spokesperson stressed, underlining the importance of the constitution of the United States, noting that elected leaders swear to uphold it rather than undermine it.

The emails unveiled by Musk show how members of the legal, policy, and communication departments of Twitter discussing whether they should restrict the aforementioned article under their hacked materials policy just weeks ahead of the 2020 election that saw Trump going head to head with Hunter Biden's father.

Earlier in the year, California Republican Darrell Issa said as cited by Fox News that his party has Hunter Biden's laptop and is poring over the "treasure trove" of data contained within it. That came at a time when Republican lawmakers said they were planning to investigate the device.

Following a long period of hints without an actual announcement, Trump declared in mid-November that he would be running for the 2024 American presidential elections as a Republican candidate.

“In order to make America great and glorious again, I am tonight announcing my candidacy for president of the United States,” Trump told his supporters that gathered at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump led his announcement by listing his "accomplishments" during his presidential term, bashing the Biden administration and the "radical left" for the current economic state of the country, among other policies that to this day have remained highly controversial.

On the evening of former President Donald Trump's 2024 campaign launch, the conservative Club for Growth issued a warning shot — and signaled that it may support his main adversary, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.

It is worth noting that a number of party figures blamed Trump for Republicans' weaker-than-expected performance in last month's midterm elections, suggesting that it's time to move on from the twice-impeached president.
