British-based tabloid
The Daily Mirror reported on Wednesday that US President Donald Trump has sparked outrage after sharing an AI-generated video on his Truth Social platform that depicts a highly controversial vision of Gaza.

The video imagines the region that just suffered a genocide transformed into a lavish metropolis branded as "Trump Gaza," effectively erasing the harsh realities faced by Palestinians under occupation.

The 33-second video, titled "Gaza 2025... What's Next?", begins by showing scenes of destruction and despair in Gaza, with masked gunmen and children amidst the ruins. It then abruptly transitions to a flashy, Americanized version of the region, showcasing towering skyscrapers, luxury yachts, and golden statues of Trump. An upbeat jingle declares, "Donald Trump will set you free… Trump Gaza is finally here," glossing over the humanitarian catastrophe that continues to unfold in Gaza.

The AI-generated clip includes surreal portrayals of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tech billionaire Elon Musk enjoying leisure activities, including Musk indulging in fondue and Netanyahu lounging poolside.

The tabloid labeled the video as "morally repugnant," accusing Trump of reducing the war on Gaza to a superficial branding exercise while ignoring the realities of occupation, blockades, and systemic oppression.

Gaza Displacement

The video comes in light of Trump's recently announced plan to "take over" Gaza, which envisions transforming the territory into the "Riviera of the Middle East." During a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in early February, Trump proposed relocating Gaza's population of approximately 2 million Palestinians to neighboring countries to pave the way for this extravagant development.

He did not rule out deploying US troops to achieve this vision, a move that has sparked widespread condemnation from international human rights organizations and neighboring Arab countries.

Egypt and Jordan, key neighboring countries, have firmly rejected the idea of resettling displaced Palestinians within their borders, citing concerns over regional stability and national security. Egyptian officials noted that such a move would undermine the Palestinian cause and potentially destabilize the region.

The proposal has been condemned as an endorsement of ethnic cleansing and a gross violation of Palestinian self-determination, with United Nations officials describing it as tantamount to "ethnic cleansing" under international law.
