UN Arab Group proposes draft resolution for Gaza humanitarian truce
The new resolution "calls for an immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities," as opposed to the previous document that called for an "immediate ceasefire".
A new draft resolution has been proposed by the Arab Group at the United Nations to implement a ceasefire in Gaza, with several amendments, including the replacement of a call for a ceasefire with a call for a humanitarian truce, per the document seen by Sputnik.
In detail, the document "calls for an immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce leading to a cessation of hostilities," as opposed to the previous document that called for an "immediate ceasefire".

Led by Jordan, the Arab Group drafted this text as a way to achieve peace in the region, which was presented on Thursday during the Emergency Special Session of the United Nations on the war on Gaza. "Israel" stated from the onset that it would not support this resolution.
Adding fuel to the fire
Leaders and high-ranking officials from over a dozen nations convened in Cairo on Saturday amid increasing concerns of a broader Middle East crisis in the wake of the brutal Israeli aggression on Gaza.
Named the "Cairo Peace Summit," envoys from nations such as Jordan, France, Germany, Russia, China, the United Kingdom, the United States, Qatar, and South Africa participated in the single-day gathering last Saturday. However, no conclusion or draft resolution was achieved after reports of a dispute.
Meanwhile, the US has been contributing to the escalation after Pentagon Press Secretary Pat Ryder confirmed on Thursday the United States’ plan to enhance "Israel's" war capabilities amidst the ongoing war on Gaza.
"In conjunction to the previously announced security assistance for Israel, I can confirm the delivery of two US Iron Dome systems from our inventory to help further bolster Israel’s air defense capabilities against rocket attacks," Ryder told reports without providing further details.

Ryder also revealed the US’s strategic military deployment aimed at stabilizing the tense situation in the Middle East.
"In a move to deter the escalation of a broader conflict and enhance the US force protection capabilities, approximately 900 troops have been or are currently in the process of being deployed to the US Central Command [CENTCOM] Area of Responsibility," Ryder added.
