US in talks with 'other countries' for Red Sea maritime task force: WH
The White House believes that Iran has played a significant role in facilitating the recent operations by the Yemeni resistance on commercial vessels passing through the Persian Gulf region.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan on Monday stated that the US is in discussions with "other countries" to create a maritime task force in the Red Sea, aiming to secure the safe passage of commercial ships.
"We are in talks with other countries about a maritime task force of sorts, involving the ships from partner nations, alongside the United States in ensuring safe passage of ships in the Red Sea, those talks are ongoing as we speak, I don't have anything formal to announce," Sullivan said during a press briefing.
Sullivan noted that the US will conduct thorough consultations, working to formulate a response that includes extensive participation from various countries. Subsequently, additional reports will be shared with the public.
This comes amid an increase in operations targeting Israeli carriers carried out by the Yemeni resistance in the Red Sea.

Sullivan noted that Iran has played a significant role in facilitating the recent operations by the Yemeni resistance on commercial vessels passing through the Persian Gulf region.
"We have every reason to believe that these attacks, while they were launched by the Houthis in Yemen, are fully enabled by Iran," Sullivan said during a press briefing.
Yemen to renew operations against "Israel"
On Sunday, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced it would resume its operations against the Israeli occupation after it renewed its aggression on the Gaza Strip on Friday morning.
"We will resume targeting the Zionist occupation entity with painful and crushing strikes," spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yahya Saree said.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have previously suspended their missile and drone attacks on Israeli targets in occupied Palestine after the Resisatnce imposed a 7-day truce on the Israeli occupation.
In response to "Israel's" renewed attacks on the Gaza Strip, an anticipated statement from Yemen was imminent, given the nation's consistent commitment to supporting the Palestinian Resistance in the face of aggression.
