US lectures on human rights, violates all principles: Khamenei
Sayyed Khamenei praises students protesting in support of Palestine and Gaza in the United States.
Iranian leader Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Thursday that global pro-Palestine movements are rooted in the spirit of the Islamic Revolution, highlighting the ongoing demonstrations in support of Gaza, especially in Western countries.
In a meeting with the members of the Tehran Martyrs Congress, he emphasized the significant role of the Resistance during the war imposed on the country by the Iraqi regime of Saddam Hussein.

Sayyed Khamenei also praised the pro-Palestine student protests in the United States, describing them as "a unique phenomenon in contemporary history."
In that context, he underlined the growing level of support for Palestine among US academics, which is now challenging the US government's false commitment to human rights.
Despite adopting the human rights rhetoric, the United States has violated these principles by sending police forces to beat and arrest protesting students and professors.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave an address at the US Congress on Wednesday, where he received dozens of standing ovations and rounds of applause during a 55-minute speech, even more than a US president.

Activists stormed Congress ahead of the prime minister's speech in protest of the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Over 400 American Jews protested at the Capitol building on the day after Netanyahu’s arrival and refused to leave, chanting “Arms embargo now," "Stop arming Israel," and other chants protesting the genocide in Gaza.
But police officers were deployed to the scene of the peaceful demonstration, and zip-tied the pro-Palestine protesters before escorting them away.
'Tel Aviv butcher'
Nasser Kanaani, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, criticized the US on Thursday for presenting itself as a human rights advocate.
Kanaani remarked in a social media post that "Having committed genocide and infanticide for nine consecutive months, the criminal prime minister of a fake regime is hugged and embraced by his supporters ... The slogan of human rights is now the most ludicrous phrase heard from the American and European leaders."

He also said that Netanyahu's favorable reception in Washington revealed "the brutal and malevolent face" of US politics to the world, damaging Western civilization's "deceitful efforts to portray itself as an innocent and humane face."
The Iranian diplomat also posted that Palestinian children were getting slain at the hands of the "Tel Aviv butcher" every day.
The ordinary rights of Palestinians, such as the rights to life, security, food, water, medicine, and treatment are being violated in Gaza and before everyone's eyes, while Congress and the US administration receive Netanyahu as "the executioner" with applause, Kanaani concluded.
