The US renewed its airstrikes on Yemeni cities Friday, targeting the al-Tuhayta District in the Hodeidah governorate, located along the Red Sea in southwestern Yemen, and the al-Asayid district in Saada governorate in the north, according to Al Mayadeen's correspondent.

In Hodeidah, US aircraft carried out six airstrikes on the al-Tuhayta District, while multiple raids targeted the Saada governorate.

On Wednesday evening, US warplanes launched fresh airstrikes on Yemen, targeting the capital Sanaa, and the provinces of Saada and al-Bayda, an Al Mayadeen correspondent in Yemen reported. The strikes hit areas near the Ministry of Communications and the Postal Authority in northern Sanaa.

In al-Bayda, US aircraft targeted the al-Sawadiyah district, while in Saada, airstrikes struck the outskirts of the city, our correspondent reported.

According to Yemen’s SABA news agency, the US attack on the al-Thawra district in northern Sanaa hit an unfinished event hall within a residential neighborhood.

This latest attack follows Tuesday’s US airstrikes on the provinces of Hajjah and Saada in northern and northwestern Yemen.

Washington has intensified its strikes on Yemen after Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi reaffirmed that Yemen’s armed forces would escalate their operations in support of Gaza, telling Palestinians: "You are not alone."

The renewed US strikes are in retaliation against Sana’a’s support for Gaza, particularly after Yemen’s armed forces resumed their naval blockade on all Israeli-linked ships in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, Bab al-Mandeb, and the Gulf of Aden. Following repeated US attacks on Yemen, American vessels were also added to the list of prohibited ships.
