YAF operations in Red, Arabian seas closely linked to Gaza war: Sanaa
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sanaa's government denounces the UN Security Council’s condemnation of the YAF's operations in support of Gaza.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sanaa's government reiterated that the operations of the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) in the Red and the Arabian seas are closely linked to the events in the Gaza Strip, affirming that the operations will persist until the Israeli aggression on Gaza stops and the siege is lifted.
The Security Council had condemned the Yemeni operations, citing their alleged "negative effects" on navigation.
In a statement denouncing the UN Security Council’s condemnation of the YAF's operations in support of Gaza, the Ministry stressed that the aim of these operations is exceptionally humanitarian and enjoys the support of the Yemeni people and all peoples of the region and the world.
Sanaa considered that the Security Council statement reflects a dangerous submission to the desires of the United States and supports Israeli brutality in Gaza.
It indicated that the Security Council's stance violates all laws, norms, ethics, and common humanitarian values, and undermines the mission for which the Council was established.
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry in Sanaa's government stressed that "it is shameful" that the Security Council has been unable to issue a statement condemning the daily Israeli massacres against the children and women in the Gaza Strip.
Elsewhere, it pointed out that it would have been better for the Security Council to prevent the US from providing weapons to the Israeli occupation entity, because of which thousands of massacres are being committed against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
On his part, Abdul-Malik Al-Ajri, a member of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, affirmed that the recent Security Council statement is of no value.
It is noteworthy that Sanaa and the Yemeni Armed Forces have reiterated that navigation in the Red Sea will remain safe and secure for all ships, except for Israeli and Israeli-bound ships, as well as American and British ships following the two countries' repetitive aggression on Yemeni territory.
Last week, the leader of the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul al-Malik al-Houthi, announced that the Yemeni Armed Forces are heading toward expanding the scope of their operations conducted against the Israeli occupation forces' war on the Gaza Strip.
He affirmed that the YAF is heading toward launching attacks on vessels in the Indian Ocean that have been redirected toward the Cape of Good Hope Route.
Sayyed al-Houthi stressed that "operations targeting Israeli-affiliated vessels and ships affiliated with the American and British sides are ongoing with high effectiveness," underscoring that any US action in the region "will not be able to stop us from supporting Gaza."
The Yemeni leader made it clear that the YAF's naval operations will continue as long as the aggression against Gaza persists.
"American and British obstinacy have one outcome, which is the widening of the conflict and war at the regional level," he added.
