Yemen's Palestine 2 hypersonic missile
The Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced that they carried out an operation targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, using a Palestine 2 hypersonic missile. The operation, described as a show of support for Gaza and retaliation against the crimes of the occupation, marks another escalation in Yemen’s ongoing operations until the Israeli aggression is halted.

In a statement issued Thursday, the Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed the operation.
The spokesperson of the YAF, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, announced that the operation had successfully met its objectives, stating that “millions of Zionists fled to shelters, and airport operations were suspended” following the attack.
The statement described the operation as “support for the oppressed Palestinian people, and a response to the genocide and crimes of starvation committed by the Israeli enemy in the Gaza Strip.”
Earlier in the day, Israeli media reported explosions near the airport after the Israeli army claimed it had detected a missile launch from Yemen.
Escalation to continue until Gaza siege lifted
The YAF emphasized that they are “closely following developments in Gaza,” expressing confidence in Palestinian Resistance factions to thwart “the enemy’s plan to occupy Gaza and displace its people.”
Reaffirming Yemen’s commitment to its operations, the statement declared that Ansar Allah will continue launching missile strikes and other military actions until “the aggression stops and the siege on Gaza is lifted,” adding, “We will remain with you and by your side until victory, with all our available capabilities.”
Yemen’s expanding military campaign against 'Israel'
Since the start of the war on Gaza in October 2023, and up until June 2025, the Yemeni Armed Forces have conducted more than 520 operations targeting both Israeli territory and maritime routes linked to the occupation. These operations have included the use of Palestine-2 hypersonic ballistic missiles, Yafa drones, cruise missiles, and naval vessels.
Recent months have seen a significant escalation. In July 2025 alone, Ansar Allah leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi reported 45 operations in just one week. August 2025 has continued this pace, with strikes on Haifa, Eilat, Beer al-Sabe', and al-Naqab Desert using explosive-laden drones.
The Yemeni naval blockade, now in its fourth phase, targets any company dealing with Israeli ports, regardless of nationality. The blockade has crippled “Israel’s” Red Sea port of Eilat, causing an 80% revenue drop, the docking of only six ships in the first five months of 2025 compared to 134 in 2023, and a complete shutdown in July 2025 due to debts and blockade pressure.
The Israeli economic media outlet The Marker reported that the port of Eilat will completely cease operations starting next Sunday after the city municipality froze its bank accounts due to millions of shekels in accumulated debts.

Ben Gurion Airport has also been repeatedly hit, forcing millions into shelters, suspending flights, and causing a 13% drop in air traffic in May 2025 after a direct strike.
The Yemeni Armed Forces maintain that these operations will continue until the aggression against Gaza ends and the siege is lifted, combining direct strikes with economic warfare to sustain pressure on "Israel".
