On Wednesday, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) announced their response to the recent US aggression against Yemen, which included 36 airstrikes targeting several areas in Sanaa, Saada, and other governorates, resulting in deaths and injuries.
YAF spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree confirmed that Yemen's naval, air, and missile forces conducted a coordinated and strategic military operation, during which they confronted the US aircraft carrier Harry Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea.
Saree further stated that the operation involved multiple cruise missiles and drones, successfully achieving its objectives, noting that the engagement lasted for several hours and helped thwart part of the attack on the country.
He reaffirmed that the YAF will continue targeting all US warships and sources of threat within the designated area of operations, making it clear that these aggressive raids will not prevent them from fulfilling their commitment to supporting the Palestinian people.
Saree affirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces' operations deep inside the Israeli entity in occupied Palestine are ongoing and will not cease until the aggression against Gaza is halted and the siege is lifted.
US aggression on Yemen
On Thursday, US-led coalition reconnaissance aircraft targeted a civilian car in the Majz district of Saada governorate, following two airstrikes in the same area.
At midnight on Wednesday-Thursday, US aircraft also struck the Kitaf district and the Kahlan area, both located east of Saada governorate.
Alongside the ongoing attacks in Taiz in southern Yemen, Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that US aircraft targeted the communications network in Jabal Namah, within the Jablah district of Ibb Governorate in central Yemen.
In an interview with Al Mayadeen, Yemeni Health Ministry spokesperson Anis al-Asbahi confirmed the deaths of five people, five injuries, and one person missing due to the recent airstrikes on Yemen. He stressed that Yemenis remain aware of the ongoing challenges and are prepared to face them.
MQ-9 downed by YAF
The Yemeni Armed Forces announced earlier today that they had successfully shot down a US MQ-9 drone while it was carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Hodeidah Governorate.
Saree pointed out that this is the second drone Yemeni air defenses have downed in the past 72 hours, bringing the total to 17 drones shot down during the Promised Victory and Holy Jihad battle in support of Gaza.
This comes as Yemeni operations continue despite ongoing aggression from the United States since Yemen resumed its operations at sea and within the occupied territories, following Israel's renewed aggression against Gaza.
Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah movement, emphasized that this external aggression will not deter Yemen from continuing its military operations at sea or its missile strikes targeting the Israeli entity.
