Yemeni air defense intercepts Saudi warplane over Marib
Yemeni Armed Forces spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree says a Saudi warplane was intercepted in the south of Marib.
A Saudi warplane was forced to withdraw from Yemen's Juba airspace, in the south of Marib, after it was intercepted by the Yemeni Army and Popular Committees.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree tweeted and confirmed the operation was carried out using a locally-made "Fatir-1" surface-to-air missile.
Days ago, the Yemeni armed forces announced that they had shot down a US-made spy plane (ScanEagle) while carrying out hostile actions in the airspace of the Juba area in the Marib governorate.
Notably, field sources told Al Mayadeen on Thursday that the "Al-Balaq eastern mountain range, which overlooks the Yemeni city of Marib, has been liberated," clarifying that this mountain range is the last fortress to the southeast of Marib.
Sources noted that Hadi and aggression forces are faltering and added that many of these forces are running away from battle and have lost all contact with some of their leaderships who are nowhere to be found.
