Yemeni Armed Forces target military site near Saudi Abha airport
The Spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces has announced a military site at Abha airport was targeted with precision.
Yemeni Army Spokesperson Brigadier General Yahya Saree announced that the Yemeni Air Force targeted an important military site at Abha Airport with a Qasef 2K drone.
Saree confirmed the precise targeting of the airport, which is one of the airports used to execute aggressive military acts against Yemen.
The Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesperson renewed his warning to Saudi citizens to stay away from military sites in Saudi Arabia.
According to the official Saudi Press Agency, the coalition announced their air defenses intercepted a drone launched towards the airport today.
An airport official said, "Aircraft movement at Abha airport was halted for a short period before being resumed."
The state-run Al-Ekhbariya TV reported that the drone was shot down on a runway.
Earlier today, Saree confirmed that the Yemeni air defenses shot down an armed spy drone that belongs to the Saudi Air Force in the airspace of Harad District in Hajjah Governorate.
Saree indicated that the Chinese-made CH4 armed spy drone, while carrying out hostile actions in the vicinity of Harad, was shot down using a surface-to-air missile.
This comes after the Saudi-led coalition warplanes targeted Hajjah Governorate with 13 airstrikes, in conjunction with the continuation of violent confrontations in the governorate.
Al Mayadeen correspondent in Sanaa reported Wednesday that the Yemeni Army Forces and Popular Committees liberated the strategic Al-Muhsam camp, north of Haradh District in Hajjah, which borders Saudi Arabia, following violent battles with Hadi forces and the Saudi coalition, resulting in many deaths and injuries in the latter’s ranks.
