Lewandowski Receives the Golden Shoe
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski receives the Golden Shoe award, and pledges for more titles with his team.
Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski received yesterday, Tuesday, the Golden Shoe, which is an award given to the best scorer in European leagues since 1968.
Lewandowski, Bayern Munich's top scorer, has scored 41 goals in 29 matches in the German Bundesliga, breaking Gerd Muller's record of 40 goals held since the 1971-1972 season.
During the ceremony held at the Bayern Museum at the Allianz Arena, the Polish star made sure to thank his wife, Anna, for her constant motivation and support.
“I am very proud of him,” expressed Anna. “He is extraordinary as a person, as an athlete, as a partner, as a friend, and as a husband.” Anna is a nutritionist and monitors her husband’s diet.
The 33-year-old Golden Shoe winner added that his mission “is not over yet" and that he's still "hungry for titles” with his team.

It is noteworthy to mention that Lewandowski is the second player in the German League to win the Golden Shoe award, after Gerd Muller.
