Marseille Denounce Racist Remarks toward Troyes' Player
The presidents of the two clubs condemn the racial comments toward Troyes' S. Korean player.
During their 1-0 Ligue 1 triumph at the Stade Velodrome last weekend, Olympique de Marseille criticized the racial comments directed at Troyes' South Korean striker Suk Hyun-jun.
The game was held behind closed doors, but Troyes said on Tuesday that the South Korean player was racially harassed, adding that the comments were recorded by Amazon Prime's microphones, which were broadcasting the game on Sunday.
"Olympique de Marseille joined the Trojan club in strongly condemning the remarks made towards Suk Hyun-jun... OM also offers its full support to the Troyes player," the club said.
"The presidents of the two clubs exchanged opinions in a calm atmosphere, and (Marseille) has agreed to ask the perpetrators for answers and to take the required measures through its president Pablo Longoria," OM added, according to Reuters.
