Pro-Palestine demonstrators disrupted the Hollywood "Walk of Fame" ceremony for Israeli actress Gal Gadot, a former IOF soldier and vocal supporter of "Israel" amid escalating Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which have killed over 426 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 600 in less than 48 hours.

The demonstration, which faced a heavy police deployment, highlights growing global outrage over the Israeli genocide in Gaza and Gadot’s outspoken support for it.

According to Variety, the pro-Palestinian demonstrators held signs reading “Heroes Fight Like Palestinians,” “Viva Viva Palestina,” and “No Other Land Won Oscar,” referencing the documentary on Israeli assaults in the occupied West Bank that won Best Documentary this month.

Footage shared on X by Variety reporter Katcy Stephan showed protesters chanting “Shame on Gal Gadot.” Another clip depicted multiple individuals handcuffed by police. The crowd also shouted, “Up up with liberation, down down with occupation” and “Not another nickel, not another dime, no more money for Israel’s crime.”

Meanwhile, many activists are voicing their anger, with some expressing support for Palestine and condemning Gadot’s pro-"Israel" stance, while others argue that she is undeserving of the honor due to her acting skills.

From hundreds of applications, stars on the Walk of Fame are awarded each year by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. A total fee of $50,000 is paid by recipients for the creation and installation of their star.

'Disney supports genocide'

The protest delayed the ceremony by approximately 15 minutes, with demonstrators still audible as the event proceeded.

The demonstrations took place just days before the opening weekend of Snow White, which has already faced controversy. Speculation about tensions between Gadot and co-star Rachel Zegler, a vocal supporter of Palestine, grew after Disney scaled back its world premiere, limiting media access to in-house, talent-friendly outlets.

Gadot is not the only Disney star to face backlash over its support for the Israeli genocide. Last month, several dozen pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the Hollywood premiere of Captain America: Brave New World, calling for a boycott over the inclusion of Israeli superhero Sabra, played by Israeli actress Shira Haas.

Protesters carried signs reading “Disney supports genocide,” while Palestinian cultural groups criticized Marvel’s decision to feature the character. In a joint letter, they stated, “By reviving this racist character in any form, Marvel is promoting Israel’s brutal oppression of Palestinians.”
