A senior military advisor to Sayyed Ali Khamenei asserts that the inevitable outcome for US occupation forces in Syria and Iraq is an "escape" mirroring the scenario that unfolded in Afghanistan.

A top military advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Sayyed Ali Khamenei commended the Resistance front in the region and warned the US occupation forces in the region of a fate similar to that they experienced in Afghanistan, represented by a "humiliating escape".

Iranian Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi stated, “The resistance of the people and governments of Iraq and Syria caused the defeat of Daesh. these American and Zionist mercenaries, [and] the resistance of the Afghan people caused the defeat of the US in Afghanistan and their humiliating escape. It caused the failure of the US in the plans to overthrow the Syrian government.”

Rahim Safavi continued by emphasizing that the decrease in US forces in Iraq and Syria can be attributed to the active resistance in these nations. He added that, in the end, American troops are destined to retreat from Iraq and Syria, mirroring their withdrawal from Afghanistan.

As of now, almost 900 American troops are deployed in Syria as of February 2021 and 2,500 others in Iraq, a presence that Washington claims exists to fight extreme terrorists in both countries. But the US has for long employed the alleged "ISIS threat" as a pretext to continue its illegal occupation of northeastern Syrian territories.

It has done so for two reasons: to destabilize the Syrian government and to pursue the systematic looting of the country's oil resources.

The senior Iranian military official also pointed out that the Israeli regime's losses in the 33-day and 55-day wars on the Gaza Strip, as well as its setbacks following Operation al-Aqsa Flood, are attributed to the Resistance in Palestine.

United States set up for crushing failure in the region

In recent weeks, there has been a significant surge in anti-US sentiments across the region, fueled by Washington's unequivocal support for Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip.

Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood has crushed US plans to take over the region.

"The historic event of al-Aqsa Flood is against the Zionist regime but it is aimed at de-Americanization. This incident literally managed to disrupt the table of American policies in the region, and God willing, if this Flood continues, it will wipe out the whole table,” he said.

"Israel's" aggression on Gaza, he said, did not only discredited the occupation but the United States, several European countries, and Western culture and civilization in general as well.

“The barbaric and cruel actions that the Zionist regime committed in its crimes against the people of Gaza, not only destroyed the reputation of the regime, but also that of the United States. It took away the reputation of several renowned European countries, and also ruined the reputation of Western culture and civilization,” he indicated.
