'Israel' kills two children amid hospital siege, oxygen station strike
Invading Israeli forces have bombed the oxygen station at Kamal Adwan Hospital, resulting in the death of two little children.
Gaza's Health Ministry reported that two Palestinian children died at the last operational hospital in the northern part of the territory following an Israeli raid on the facility.
In a statement released Friday evening, the Ministry confirmed that the two children, who were in the intensive care unit, passed away after the generators at Kamal Adwan Hospital stopped working and Israeli forces targeted the hospital's oxygen station.
"Two children have died in the intensive care unit after the hospital's generators failed and the oxygen station was targeted," the statement read.
The Ministry further stated that Israeli forces "are searching the hospital and shooting inside the various departments."
Additionally, the statement highlighted the destruction of three ambulances and a transport vehicle, severely disrupting relief and evacuation efforts.
"The solar-powered electricity system has also been destroyed, exacerbating the crisis," the Ministry stressed.
According to the Health Ministry, 195 patients and wounded individuals are currently at the hospital, alongside 70 medical staff. The statement also confirmed that three nurses and a cleaner were injured during the attack.
Furthermore, the Ministry reported that around 600 people were inside the hospital, many of whom were detained by invading Israeli forces.
Gaza's Health Ministry also reported that Israeli troops had detained hundreds of medical staff, patients, and forcibly displaced individuals during the raid.
"Israeli forces have stormed and are present inside Kamal Adwan Hospital" in Jabalia, the Ministry said, adding that "they are detaining hundreds of patients, medical staff, and some displaced individuals from neighboring areas who sought refuge in the hospital from continuous bombardment."
WHO Chief: 600 Patients and Medical Staff 'Trapped' in Gaza Hospital Under Siege
World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Ghebreyesus announced that contact with the personnel at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza has been lost since Friday morning.
“Since this morning's reports of a raid on Kamal Adwan Hospital, we have lost touch with the personnel there,” Ghebreyesus stated on X.
Since this morning’s reports of a raid of Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza, we have lost touch with the personnel there. This development is deeply disturbing given the number of patients being served and people sheltering there.

He expressed concern, saying, “This development is deeply disturbing, given the number of patients being served and people sheltering there.”
Later, Ghebreyesus provided an update on the situation at Kamal Adwan Hospital.
He reported that Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza remains under siege, although contact with the staff has been reestablished. He noted that three health workers and another employee have sustained injuries, 44 health workers are currently detained, and four ambulances have been damaged. Approximately 600 patients, healthcare workers, and individuals are taking shelter in the hospital, as per Ghebreyesus.
The attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital, located in Beit Lahia northwest of Jabalia, began around 2 am local time Friday, shortly after a WHO delegation had left. It started with airstrikes targeting the hospital and its courtyards, including the medical oxygen generator, as reported by Dr. Munir al-Bursh, the director-general of the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza.
The bombing resulted in the deaths of children inside the hospital and injuries to medical staff. Approximately two hours later, Israeli troops raided the hospital, calling on all patients, including those in intensive care, to gather in the courtyard.
It is worth noting that Kamal Adwan is one of three hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip that have been under a severe Israeli siege for three weeks, receiving little to no aid, medicine, food, or fuel since the blockade began.
The other two hospitals, the Indonesian Hospital and Al-Awda Hospital, have ceased operations in recent days due to ongoing Israeli attacks. Kamal Adwan remains operational at minimal capacity, providing life-saving services to newborns in neonatal intensive care units and other patients in ICUs.
'Israel' committing 'a medicide' in Gaza
Tlaleng Mofokeng, the UN’s special rapporteur on the right to health, stated that "Israel" has been committing "medicide" during its year-long aggression on Gaza.
“In the same way we understand the rights of journalists as human rights defenders, this genocide has showcased the incredible work that doctors and other healthcare workers do in a way I don’t think we’ve seen before,” she remarked during a news conference.
“They are the oath takers, the ones who refused to leave and evacuate, and they stayed knowing what their fate was, caring for their patients,” she further stressed.
