Russia’s Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, explained his country's stance regarding the Iran Nuclear Deal, pointing out that Moscow opposes any additions to its terms.

Ulyanov, Head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna Talks, stressed in a tweet on Twitter that the Talks aim to “restore the original JCPOA,” and nothing more.

Ulyanov also added that all parties should be careful not to deviate from the common goal of the Nuclear Deal.

Indeed, the agreed goal of the #ViennaTalks is to restore the original #JCPOA. Nothing more and nothing less. ALL participants should take care of not creating- even non-intentionally- impression that they deviate from this common goal and try to add something new to the deal. https://t.co/oKjQ8z0YWK

On July 4th, the Russian Representative had pointed out that the Iran Nuclear Deal will soon be revived and that the US sanctions against Iran may be lifted.

Moreover, the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif addressed a letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres, which included all the documents of the US non-compliance, throughout 6 years, with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and the Nuclear Agreement signed in 2015.

On July 29, Iran’s Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Kazem Gharibabadi, stated that Washington has refused to ensure the non-recurrence of its withdrawal from the Nuclear Agreement.

Earlier in July, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that “the progress is substantial, but the US’ return to the JCPOA implies a full and unconditional resumption of the deal’s obligations.”

It's noteworthy to mention that Iran has paused the nuclear talks in Vienna, as it awaits the appointment of President-elect Ebrahim Raisi to succeed former President Hassan Rouhani, which is set to take place on August 5.
