Lebanese PM Demands UN Intervention to Stop Israeli Violations
The Prime Minister of the Lebanese Caretaker Government Hassan Diab made a series of calls to contain the Israeli escalation and urged the United Nations to force "Israel" to stop violating Lebanon's sovereignty.
The Prime Minister of the Lebanese caretaker government, Hassan Diab, made a series of calls, today, Friday, to contain the escalation in South Lebanon through complete commitment to Resolution 1701.
Diab stressed the importance of stopping repeated Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty, which peaked last night with Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese soil, in a clear violation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
He also urged the UN to pressure "Israel" and force it to respect the Resolution and stop its violation of Lebanese sovereignty.
The Prime Minister had asked Defense Minister and interim Foreign Minister Zeina Akar to ask Lebanon's Ambassador to the UN to file an urgent complaint to the UN Security Council on the Israeli aggression that took place on Wednesday.
Earlier today, the Lebanese Resistance announced that it fired rockets at the vicinity of Israeli occupation military posts in the occupied Shebaa Farms with tens of 122mm rockets, in retaliation for the Israeli airstrikes on open fields in al-Jarmaq and al-Shawakir.
