Amid stifling siege on northern Gaza, 'Israel' massacres civilians
The Israeli occupation forces' escalating aggression on northern Gaza has claimed countless lives, with more than 70 killed in one airstrike on a residential building.
For 25 consecutive days, the Israeli occupation forces have engaged in concentrated attacks in northern Gaza, intensifying an ongoing campaign that has now reached its 389th day throughout the entire Gaza Strip.
In one of the deadliest incidents yet, Israeli airstrikes targeted a five-story residential building in Beit Lahia late last night, killing more than 70 people, according to initial reports. Scores of civilians were also injured or remain missing under the rubble, an Al Mayadeen correspondent reported.
Local media indicated that the building housed over 100 displaced Palestinians from Jabalia Camp and Tel al-Zaatar, with families calling for help to rescue those still trapped beneath the debris. The director of Kamal Adwan Hospital stated that most of the wounded from the Beit Lahiya massacre face slim chances of survival due to severe shortages in medical resources, as Israeli bombardments have also impacted the hospital's surroundings in northern Gaza while the siege restricted the flow of essential goods such as medicine.
Israeli forces further escalated their operations by targeting al-Fakhoura School, run by UNRWA in Jabalia Camp, setting it ablaze. Concurrently, heavy artillery shelling has impacted Jabalia and Safatwi areas in northern Gaza, further worsening the situation for civilians.
Additional airstrikes struck a home sheltering displaced families on al-Nafaq Street in Gaza City, and another residence near Hira Mosque in northern Gaza, injuring several and compounding the destruction across northern Gaza.
As the bombardment continues without pause, hundreds of thousands of Palestinians are being forcibly displaced from their homes without any assurances of a safe return. Reports indicate that Israeli forces are conducting raids on fleeing families, detaining men separately from women and children, and arresting numerous civilians whose locations remain unknown.
Unyielding siege, destruction
Under an unyielding siege, northern Gaza is facing acute shortages in basic supplies, with the occupation restricting humanitarian aid and directly targeting health and civil defense teams.
Referring to field reports documenting the crimes, the Gaza Government Media Office confirmed that Israeli occupation forces have engaged in a systematic campaign of genocide in northern Gaza, which has been under an unrelenting siege and nonstop fire that aims to eliminate any form of life.
Over 770 Palestinians have been confirmed killed over the past 20 days and more than 1,000 injured who cannot be treated as "Israel" targets hospitals, leaving them almost out of service, and blocking the entry of life-saving medicine and resources.
The Media Office further stressed that the Israeli campaign is heavily targeting women, children, and the elderly. Civilian shelters are bombed and set ablaze, among the imposition of countless other life-threatening conditions.
Palestinians who tried to evacuate through designated "safe routes" were either executed or abducted, including women.
Meanwhile, Israeli naval forces have intensified attacks in the south, opening fire off Khan Younis’ coast and conducting air and sea bombardments on the al-Mawasi area near Rafah.
The Israeli occupation forces have been using a variety of banned weapons in their airstrikes, including heavy artillery, tanks, and precision missiles, as part of a calculated genocide against the people of Gaza. These assaults are indiscriminate and aim to cause maximum harm to civilians, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis.
The ongoing aggression on Gaza, launched on October 7, 2023, has so far claimed 43,020 lives and left 101,110 injured, with most casualties being children and women. Thousands are still missing under the ruins as relentless Israeli attacks continue across Gaza by land, sea, and air.
