Amir-Abdollahian tells Guterres attack on Yemen a strategic mistake
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian tells UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that the US and UK aggression against Yemen constituted a strategic mistake that prompted an inevitable regional escalation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian spoke to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, on Monday, emphasizing that the recent strike by the US and UK coalition against Yemen was a strategic mistake that is poised to intensify tensions in the region.
Moreover, the Iranian Foreign Minister stressed the need to end the Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip and reiterated that Yemen's objective in the Red Sea is to halt maritime routes to the Israeli occupation's ports and not to disrupt maritime navigation as a whole.
In turn, Guterres stressed the need to end the war on the Gaza Strip and deliver humanitarian aid as the situation has become dire.
Addressing the recent developments in the Red Sea, the UN chief expressed concern about the escalating conflicts in the region, highlighting the UN's focused endeavors to halt the war and alleviate the suffering.
Additionally, the Secretary-General voiced opposition to the use of force, emphasizing the importance of all parties adhering to the principles of the UN Charter and steering clear of armed conflict.
In conclusion, Iran's top diplomat also applauded the UN chief for his proactive efforts and stance in advocating for an end to the atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza. He also conveyed his distress over the complex and distressing humanitarian situation in Gaza and affirmed Iran's readiness to provide humanitarian aid to the Strip.
Iran: 'Israel's' objectives failed at the hands of the Resistance
Amir-Abdollahian affirmed, during a ceremony held on Sunday, that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood damaged the Israeli occupation's political and security structure, an achievement only the Palestinian Resistance is capable of.
The top Iranian diplomat stated that "Israel" has seen several failures since October. The occupation failed to defeat Hamas, discover underground tunnels used by the Resistance, and release hostages, thereby resorting to the employment of intense military power. Still, the IOF failed in the face of the unyielding Resistance, which forced the occupation to turn to political solutions.
Addressing the US, Amir-Abdollahian condemned the boundless military and political support "Israel" has been receiving, coining it a "big mistake" made clear following the occupation's failure to achieve its goals, and the West's goals in Gaza.
