Arab foreign ministers have strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran and called for renewed negotiations aimed at resolving the Iranian nuclear issue.
The condemnation came in a joint statement following their meeting on the sidelines of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conference held in Istanbul, Turkey. The ministers warned that "Israel" is pushing the region toward increased conflict and instability.
Call for de-escalation and NNP
The ministers urged for effective and influential international action to halt "Israel's" aggressive actions and policies, emphasizing the importance of refraining from targeting nuclear facilities that are under the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
They also underscored the need to respect the principles of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the use or threat of force in international relations. The statement highlighted the necessity of establishing a Middle East free of nuclear weapons and all other weapons of mass destruction.
Egypt urges diplomatic resolution to prevent wider escalation
In a related context, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aati reiterated Egypt's efforts to contain the crisis. Last Thursday, he emphasized the need for developments and ways to reduce tensions between "Israel" and Iran.
The collective Arab stance reflects growing concern over the regional implications of Israeli military actions and highlights a call for diplomatic engagement over confrontation.
Earlier last month, Iran urged Islamic nations to present a unified front in response to the ongoing Israeli aggression, as the OIC prepares for an emergency session to address the situation.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, speaking during his weekly press briefing on June 16, confirmed that Iran is coordinating closely with OIC member states and regional allies following what he described as a “Zionist act of aggression.”
Baghaei opened his remarks by reading the names of children and civilians killed in the Israeli strikes on Tehran, emphasizing the human cost of the Israeli aggression.
