Sirens blasted in Tel Aviv and surrounding areas after a missile launched from Yemen entered occupied airspace on Thursday, triggering widespread panic.
Israeli media reported that air traffic to and from Ben Gurion Airport was temporarily suspended after the missile was detected. The Israeli military later claimed the missile had been intercepted.
Ansar Allah warns international airlines
Nasreddin Amer, Deputy Head of the Media Authority for the Ansar Allah movement, stated on X, “The Lydd Airport, known to Israel as Ben Gurion, is no longer safe as we have previously stated.” He emphasized that Yemeni military operations will continue to target the airport and other sites linked to the occupation.
Amer issued a direct warning to international airlines, urging them to avoid operating at the airport for the safety of passengers, “until the aggression on Gaza ceases and the siege is lifted.”
Continued Yemeni strikes amid Gaza siege
The missile launch forms part of an ongoing series of military operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces, which have imposed an aerial blockade on the occupation entity through repeated missile strikes targeting Ben Gurion Airport.
These attacks have led to frequent disruptions in air travel over recent weeks, prompting several international carriers to suspend flights to the occupied territories.
In a recent speech, Ansar Allah leader Sayyed Abdul Malik al-Houthi reaffirmed that despite the recent Israeli strike on Sanaa International Airport, Sayyed al-Houthi confirmed that it will not deter Yemen’s operations in solidarity with Palestine. "Any sacrifice made for the sake of God is an honorable one. We are in a position of action and resistance, striking the Israeli enemy," he said.
He added that operations will intensify in the coming period to further pressure "Israel". "We aim to escalate our actions to support the Palestinian people. Our next steps will be more effective and impactful," he vowed.
