Blinken set to tour Middle East for ceasefire talks: White House
While arming the Israelis, Blinken will engage in discussions regarding the recent proposal and ongoing initiatives aimed at allegedly "easing the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza."
The US State Department announced on Friday that Secretary of State Antony Blinken is scheduled to visit Egypt, "Israel", Jordan, and Qatar next week. His trip aims to address the recent ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip and to work on securing the release of remaining Israeli captives in Gaza.
"Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will travel to Egypt, Israel, Jordan, and Qatar from June 10-12, 2024," the State Department said in a statement.
The statement noted that Blinken will engage in discussions regarding the recent proposal and ongoing initiatives aimed at allegedly "easing the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza through increased humanitarian aid", as well as efforts to enhance "regional stability."
"In Jordan, the Secretary will attend a conference on the urgent humanitarian response to Gaza, co-hosted by Jordan, Egypt, and the United Nations," the statement said.

Since the start of the genocide in Gaza, the US has shown the strongest commitment to defending its ally's actions in the international arena.
US President Joe Biden recently announced a new three-phase ceasefire proposal that includes a roadmap aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and release the remaining captives. Talks have however come to a standstill as "Israel" seeks to eliminate the Resistance.
At an interview with Time Magazine on Tuesday, Biden was questioned on "Israel's" war crimes in Gaza, which are currently under investigation at the ICC and ICJ, to which he responded: "The answer is it's uncertain and has been investigated by the Israelis themselves".
"The ICC is something that we don’t recognize. But one thing is certain: the people in Gaza, the Palestinians, have suffered greatly, for lack of food, water, medicine, etc. And a lot of innocent people have been killed," he added.
"Israel" on list of global offenders against children
Earlier today, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has put the Israeli occupation's military on a global list of offenders who have committed abuses against children, according to "Israel's" outgoing UN ambassador Gilad Erdan, who described the move as "shameful."
Erdan said he received official notification of the verdict on Friday. The worldwide list is included in a report on children and armed conflict that will be submitted to the United Nations Security Council on June 14.
"Israel's" foreign minister, Israel Katz, stated that the decision will influence the country's ties with the United Nations.
Erdan stated that he was alerted by Guterres' chief of staff and shared a video on social media of his reaction to the decision during their phone chat.
He expressed being "utterly shocked and disgusted" by the decision, asserting that the IOF, which have slaughtered over 36,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children, are the "most moral army in the world."
