The pillars for defense of the occupied Palestinian lands have been cemented during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood, the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas affirmed on Saturday, stressing that Israeli plots to occupy and control the land, displace its people, and eradicate its cause have failed.
In a statement issued for the 49th anniversary of Land Day, which falls on March 30 of every year and is commemorated this year during the genocide, settlement, and annexation crimes carried out by the Israeli occupation in the Gaza Strip, West Bank, and occupied al-Quds, Hamas emphasized that "resistance is the only means to defend the land and its holy sites, to impose the people's legitimate rights, and thwart the occupation's hostile plots."
Hamas also reaffirmed the "deep-rooted connection to the land of historic Palestine" and stressed that "the occupation has neither sovereignty nor legitimacy over a single inch of it, with Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque at its heart." The movement added that the Palestinian people will continue to defend their land until the occupation is defeated and eliminated.
Occupied al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque are the "crown jewels of historic Palestine," Hamas reiterated, emphasizing that "the occupation will never have sovereignty or legitimacy over any part of them. They have always been Palestinian and will remain so, and we will protect and defend them by all means, no matter the sacrifices."
Hamas further asserted that the right of Palestinians to return to their land and homes, from which they were forcibly displaced due to Israeli crimes, "will not expire over time." The movement stressed that this right is "both an individual and collective duty that no one has the authority to relinquish or compromise."
Hamas sounds the call for Palestine
The movement also called on the Arab and Islamic nations, as well as all free people of the world, to escalate all forms of solidarity and support for Gaza, to expose the crimes of the occupation and its "Nazi-like terrorism", and to exert all possible pressure to stop the brutal war against the Strip.
Hamas urged full support for the Palestinian people's just cause and legitimate struggle against the world's longest and most dangerous settler-colonial occupation, calling for intensified efforts on all levels to isolate the occupation entity, criminalize its terrorism, and prosecute its leaders, ultimately leading to the end of the occupation.
In the past 24 hours, Gaza hospitals have received 26 Palestinian martyrs, including one whose body was retrieved from the rubble, along with 70 injuries.
A number of victims remain trapped under the rubble and on the streets, as ambulance and civil defense teams are unable to reach them.
Since March 18, 2025, the total number of martyrs has risen to 921, while the number of injuries has reached 2,054.
The overall toll of the Israeli genocide since October 7, 2023, has now reached 50,277 martyrs and 114,095 injuries.
