The Resistance is now writing a glorious chapter through the detainee exchange deal and the ceasefire, stated Zahir Jabarin, the head of Hamas in the West Bank and the head of its bureau for detainees and martyrs, emphasizing that this deal represents freedom, dignity, and pride in the history of the Palestinian people's struggle.
He stated in his remarks that the deal under Al-Aqsa Flood" go down in history as "one of the greatest militant stations in the history of our people," congratulating the Palestinian detainees on their freedom, which "came stamped with the blood of the martyrs."
He also affirmed that this deal represents a covenant and pledge to continue "the path of resistance and freedom."
Jabarin continued, saying, "Peace upon Gaza for its patience and resilience, peace upon the people of Gaza who refuse to surrender," and asserting that Gaza will remain defiant.
The head of Hamas in the West Bank emphasized that "Gaza is the graveyard of invaders and the destination of the free, and we all owe it an outstanding debt. Today, the covenant of the martyred leaders is passed on to new leaders, and the promise of Sinwar and his brethren will remain a pledge for the succeeding men."
We reject all forms of foreign trusteeship
Jabarin also noted that Hamas is committed to implementing the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and rejects any form of international trusteeship over the Palestinian people, stressing that the time has come for their people to be given their right to self-determination and to build their independent state.
Addressing "Israel", he went on to state that the national rights of the Palestinians are not up for negotiation and that a Palestinian state is not a favor from anyone, but a right belonging to its people.
Al-Aqsa Flood exchange broke the shackles of 4,000 detainees
Jabarin pointed out that "the Al-Aqsa Flood deal broke the chains of more than 4,000 detainees, including over 500 who were serving life sentences," noting that "the freedom of the remaining detainees is a trust we carry, and we are committed to continuing the work to liberate them."
Furthermore, the Hamas chief warned that keeping detainees in the occupation's jails will keep the conflict inflamed, while affirming that the occupation's attempts to usurp land, expand settlements in the West Bank, and Judaize al-Quds will turn the region into a powder keg ready to explode.
He also called for the prosecution of Israeli war criminals, headed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He stressed that the world now faces a genuine test, and anyone who wants peace for the region must begin by implementing the unified international stance to establish a Palestinian state and resolve the detainee issue by securing the release of those who remain in the occupation's prisons.
A warning against normalization
Zahir Jabarin also warned against a return to the path of normalization at the expense of the Palestinian people's rights, emphasizing that the historic moment created by Operation Al-Aqsa Flood must be seized by the Arab and Islamic world to establish a Palestinian state.
In conclusion, he affirmed that assassination attempts will not frighten the movement or break its will, vowing preparedness to pay whatever price necessary for the Palestinian people's freedom and legitimate rights. He added that the battle did not end with the cessation of gunfire but continues, centered on securing national rights, defending the land, freeing prisoners, and protecting holy sites.
