Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement with Lebanon have continued unabated over the past year, Hezbollah’s Media Relations announced on Thursday, marking one year since the ceasefire agreement was reached in November 2024.
According to the statement, the ceasefire, which came into effect at 4 am on November 27, 2024, followed more than two months of Israeli military aggression targeting South Lebanon, the eastern regions, and the capital, Beirut. Other Lebanese areas also came under attack periodically.
Hezbollah described the offensive as “aggressive” and accused "Israel" of committing a series of “horrific massacres” against civilians, the deadliest of which was the detonation of pagers and wireless devices that killed children and women, a practice Amnesty International has called a potential “war crime".
The group said the aggression left hundreds killed and wounded and caused extensive damage to homes and infrastructure, with reconstruction costs estimated by the World Bank at $11 billion.
In the statement, Hezbollah highlighted that the ceasefire, sponsored by the United States and France, had established a supervisory committee known as the Mechanism Committee, chaired by a US general and including representatives from France, UNIFIL, Lebanon, and "Israel".
However, the statement emphasized "Israel's" failure to comply with the agreement, continuing to violate Lebanese sovereignty by land, sea, and air. Hezbollah's Media Relations stated that Israeli occupation forces carried out targeted assassinations of Lebanese citizens and officials, expanded their occupation of border-adjacent territories, established military sites after extensive leveling of frontline villages, and deliberately targeted infrastructure, official institutions, and vehicles involved in post-conflict recovery efforts.
'Israel' blatantly violated the ceasefire
Hezbollah stated that Israeli attacks constitute “blatant violations” of the ceasefire, which is based on UN Security Council Resolution 1701. The group cited UNIFIL reports from November 20, 2025, documenting more than 10,000 air and ground violations since the ceasefire took effect, including over 7,500 aerial violations and around 2,500 ground breaches north of the Blue Line.
The Israeli violations of the ceasefire have taken various forms, resulting in 339 Lebanese citizens killed and 978 wounded between November 27, 2024, and November 19, 2025. The main violations include:
-
1,512 air raids targeting civilians, including children and women, infrastructure, civilian facilities, homes, vehicles, and agricultural lands;
-
252 bombings targeting bulldozers, excavators, personnel, and prefabricated structures;
-
244 shootings targeting individuals, herders, and fishermen;
-
287 artillery strikes against homes, orchards, and public roads;
-
233 house demolitions at the frontline;
-
62 ground violations involving military advances and wall constructions;
-
7,127 aerial sorties;
-
306 sweeping operations;
-
28 leaflet drops;
-
64 bulldozing operations;
-
20 detainments;
-
20 incendiary bomb attacks;
-
13 house burnings;
-
8 provocative drone recordings;
-
41 construction of dirt and concrete barriers;
-
356 attacks by sound bombs and illumination bombs.
Other reported violations included destroying two mosques, planting spy devices, uprooting trees, dropping suspicious objects and thermal balloons, carrying out mock air raids, and multiple infiltration attempts inside Lebanese territory.
'Israel' expanded its occupation of Lebanese territory
The statement revealed that "Israel" has expanded its occupation of Lebanese territories, in violation of the ceasefire agreement, which requires Israeli forces to withdraw from areas they had entered during the war to allow the Lebanese Army deployment.
Hezbollah's Media Relations said "Israel" exceeded the 60-day withdrawal period set by the agreement, citing US approval for an additional extension. Israeli officials, including Security Minister Yisrael Katz, affirmed that Israeli forces would remain in five “strategic points” in southern Lebanon indefinitely.
The five occupied points:
- Tallat al-Hamams
- Tallat al-‘Uwaydah
- Jabal Blat
- Tallat al-Labbouneh
- Tallat al-‘Azziyeh
Hezbollah's Media Relations cited the UNIFIL's documentation of the construction of a concrete wall west of the town of Yaroun, extending beyond the Blue Line and rendering over 4,000 square meters of Lebanese land inaccessible.
Hezbollah concluded that "Israel’s" continued presence, expansion, and construction in Lebanese territory constitute ongoing violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, undermine Lebanese sovereignty, and threaten the stability of the region.
