The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF), a pro-Palestine advocacy group, has filed a lawsuit in Nepal against an Israeli soldier accused of committing war crimes in Gaza.
In a statement posted on social media platform X on Monday, HRF announced that it had formally requested that Nepal arrest and extradite "Israeli War criminal Amit Nechmya."
According to HRF, Nechmya fled to Nepal from Argentina after the organization initiated legal proceedings against him there.

This case is the latest in a series of legal actions taken by HRF, which has been advocating for justice for Palestinian victims of "Israel’s" genocidal campaign in Gaza.
The group has filed multiple lawsuits in different countries, targeting Israeli soldiers involved in the war on the Palestinian enclave. Additionally, HRF has submitted a complaint to the International Criminal Court (ICC) against 1,000 Israeli soldiers.
The foundation is named after Hind Rajab, a symbol of Gaza’s suffering. On January 29, 2024, Hind was traveling in a car with her uncle, his wife, and their three children, attempting to flee the fighting in Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood when they came under Israeli fire.
Trapped inside the bullet-riddled vehicle alongside her killed relatives, Hind pleaded for help from the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS). Two PRCS paramedics, Yousef Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, were dispatched to rescue the child, but soon after, all contact with them—and with Hind—was lost.
On February 10, 2024, the bodies of Hind and her relatives were discovered inside the car. Just meters away, the remains of the two paramedics were found in a burned-out ambulance.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court’s Pre-Trial Chamber I issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Security Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least October 8, 2023, to May 20, 2024, when the prosecution filed its arrest warrant applications.
"Israel" is also facing a genocide case filed by South Africa before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over its war on Gaza.
The Israeli offensive, launched on October 7, 2023, has killed more than 50,000 Palestinians. In January, "Israel" agreed to a ceasefire deal with the Palestinian Resistance but has since March 18 resumed strikes on Gaza, violating the ceasefire and the prisoner-captive exchange agreement that had lasted nearly two months.
