The Israeli occupation forces confirmed, on Sunday, that a soldier was killed in battles in the southern Gaza Strip amid fierce resistance and confrontations from the Palestinian Resistance.

The dead IOF soldier, from the 924th Engineering Battalion of the Harel Brigade, was killed in battles in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, as per the Israeli army.

The Palestinian Resistance adds another name to the list of 225 Israeli troops killed in the Gaza Strip since "Israel" launched its ground invasion in late October 2023. Among the units and brigades that suffered casualties are the Golani Brigade, Yahalom Unit, Egoz Unit, and Maglan Unit.

This brings the total number of Israeli occupation soldiers killed since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza to 562.

A few days ago, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation forces announced that an officer serving under the Israeli Air Forces' Shaldag Unit was killed in the northern Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Resistance persists in engaging in intense confrontations for the 121st day against the invading Israeli occupation forces on all axes in Gaza.

The big picture

The British newspaper The Telegraph has lately reported that the number of killed and injured Israeli troops since October 7 is the "worst in four decades."

It is worth noting that the Israeli military establishment imposes strict control on the publication of the numbers of dead and injured soldiers and officers, in an attempt to hide the large losses its forces incur during the ongoing and escalating battles with the Palestinian Resistance.

The extent of the losses incurred by the occupation forces during ground battles on the fighting fronts is evident through the accurate statements issued by the Palestinian Resistance, as well as the footage that the different factions release of all kinds of operations, including targeting tanks and troops and executing ambushes.
