Resistance in Gaza engages in fierce confrontations with IOF
Palestinian Resistance fighters are engaged in fierce confrontations against Israeli occupation forces at multiple axes in the Gaza Strip, most notably in the al-Tawam area northwest of Gaza.
The Palestinian Resistance continues to demonstrate resilience despite intense Israeli bombardment, maintaining control over several fronts on the 88th day of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent reported that fierce confrontations with the Israeli occupation are ongoing on multiple axes in the Gaza Strip, most notably in the al-Tawam area northwest of Gaza, and in the eastern and central areas of Khan Younis, south of the Strip, as well as in the neighborhoods of al-Daraj and al-Tuffah east of Gaza City.
The Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine, announced that its fighters are engaged in intense confrontations with Israeli invading soldiers using automatic weapons, inflicting casualties among them in Bureij refugee camp in the center of the Gaza Strip.
The Brigades also stated that they targeted Israeli military gatherings in Khan Younis with a barrage of mortar shells.
Additionally, the National Resistance Brigades (the forces of the martyr Omar al-Qassem) succeeded in sniping an Israeli soldier in the vicinity of the neighborhood of al-Sheikh Radwan, near Gaza City, confirming a direct hit.
Abu Obeida: Al-Qassam targeted 71 vehicles, killed 16 troops in 4 days
Al-Qassam Brigades fighters destroyed or damaged a total of 71 Israeli military vehicles in the past four days, a statement released by the military spokesperson for Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obeida, read.
Moreover, the spokesperson said the Brigades' fighters were able to confirm, firsthand, that they had killed 16 Israeli soldiers and injured dozens of others.
On the first day of 2024, the Brigades, alongside other Resistance factions, conducted multiple operations, confirming tens of casualties among enemy forces.
In Gaza City, the Brigades' units reported that they had targeted five Israeli occupation vehicles located to the east of al-Tuffah neighborhood, which saw a major share of confrontations on Monday.
A sapper unit also set up explosives near the entrance of a tunnel to the east of al-Tuffah, killing and injuring a number of Israeli special forces who had approached the booby-trapped tunnel on Monday. Israeli media reported that 11 soldiers were injured as a result of such an event in the northern Gaza Strip on Monday.
These operations are just some of what the Resistance was able to execute on January 1. Al-Qassam's operations were also supplemented by multiple operations conducted by other factions, which included the bombardment of an Israeli command and control center near Gaza City by artillery and mortar units of al-Quds Brigades.
