Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said there are no conflicts between Cairo and Tehran: noting that Iran welcomes any initiative to improve bilateral relations, in an interview with Iranian state television.

In the interview, he also commended former president Abdel Fattah al-Sisi's foreign policy in the region which he described as "logical and correct".

He also added that during the recent visit of the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq, different regional and international topics including the resumption of diplomatic relations between Iran and Egypt, and the nuclear negotiations were discussed.

"The Sultan of Oman conveyed Cairo's view towards the normalization of relations, and Tehran welcomes any initiative to develop them, based on the common interests between Iran and Egypt," he added.

Earlier this week a delegation of high-ranking Omani officials led by the country's Sultan Haitham bin Tarik met with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and other senior officials in Tehran.

The visit followed recent news of the liberation of Iranian diplomat Assadollah Assadi in a prisoner exchange operation with Belgium that was mediated by Oman.

During Sultan Haitham's meeting with the Revolution's Supreme leader, Sayyed Ali Khamenei commended Egypt's interest in restoring ties with Iran saying "We welcome this position and have no problem in this regard."

Israeli media outlets have been assessing that improved diplomatic relations between Iran and Egypt will reflect negatively on "Israel".

Yaron Schneider, the Arab affairs expert for Israeli Channel 12, said that Egypt is currently undergoing a process of normalizing and improving its relations with Iran, adding that the level of diplomatic relations between the two has been raised from that of charge d'affaires to the ambassadors.

Furthermore, the military affairs expert, Nir Dvori, for the Israeli news channel said that Iran is working on dismantling the coalition which "Israel" built with several Arab governments as it attempted to besiege Tehran politically and economically.
