The commander of Iran’s border police reported that over the past 48 hours, Iranian forces have engaged in operations along the borders, successfully shooting down 44 Israeli drones and quadcopters.
Brigadier General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi stated in a Sunday announcement that multiple unmanned aerial vehicles had tried to enter Iranian airspace across various border areas, emphasizing that these drones were "detected and destroyed by vigilant and courageous border guards."
Goudarzi further emphasized the unwavering readiness of Iranian forces to maintain control and ensure the security of the country’s borders, issuing a stern warning that any attempted incursions by "terrorist groups, armed gangs, or hostile elements" would prompt an immediate and decisive military response.
On June 14, Iranian forces reported intercepting and destroying several Israeli drones that had violated the country's airspace near the northwestern Salmas border region, with Iranian state media stating that the unmanned aircraft were conducting reconnaissance and espionage missions at the time of their downing.
"Israel" continues to attack Iran
With Israeli attacks intensifying against Iran, Al Mayadeen's Tehran correspondent revealed that strikes targeting Valiasr Street, a major artery in the Iranian capital, resulted in civilian casualties, while local sources emphasized that the timing during rush hour suggested an intentional attack on civilian populations.
Al Mayadeen's correspondent in western Iran confirmed large explosions in Tabriz, signaling that Israeli strikes are persistently targeting multiple Iranian locations concurrently.
Iran's Internal Security Forces (FARAJA) issued an official statement revealing that an Israeli drone strike had hit the Greater Tehran Police headquarters, causing limited structural damage and wounding several officers. Security forces emphasized that police operations remain fully functional and unaffected despite the attack.
Iran’s Tasnim News Agency initially reported that Israeli strikes had targeted a compound belonging to Iran’s Defense Ministry located in the northeastern part of Tehran.
The agency further elaborated that while the Israeli assault on the Defense Ministry facility in Tehran did not result in major infrastructure damage, it caused secondary damage to surrounding structures, including an administrative building, with Iranian officials confirming the extent of the impact.
