Israeli aggression pushing region toward ‘abyss’: Jordan’s FM
Ayman Safadi visits Lebanon to reaffirm his country’s support to the Lebanese government amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.
Israeli aggression is pushing the region toward the “abyss” of all-out war, Jordan’s Foreign Minister, Ayman Safadi, stated during a visit to Lebanon.
“The Israeli aggression... which started in Gaza and now has continued into Lebanon is pushing the whole region into the abyss of full-blown regional war,” Safadi told reporters at a news conference in Beirut on Monday.
“We are facing a disaster and a dangerous escalation that threatens the region,” the top Jordanian diplomat warned.
“Israel bears responsibility for this aggression, the escalation in the region, and any new escalation that the region faces,” he emphasized.

Safadi expressed Jordan’s support for the Lebanese government’s initiative to elect a new president, a call for an immediate ceasefire, and its commitment to United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 1701.
The foreign minister also backed an initiative by the United States and France for a three-week ceasefire in Lebanon, a proposal that the Israeli regime sidelined, where it opted for expanding the aggression on the country instead.
Safadi’s visit comes as the Israeli regime intensifies its onslaught on Lebanon, launching daily airstrikes across Lebanese territory while attempting to invade Lebanese border towns.
So far, the Israeli occupation has deployed the 98th Special Forces Division and the 91st Division, as well as several reserve brigades to carry out its ground aggression on Lebanon.
However, these efforts have seen little to no success, instead, Israeli special forces have been entrapped in several major ambushes across the axes of confrontation.
The Israeli military censor has worked on obscuring facts and has only admitted to deaths among members of the Egoz Unit, Yahalom Unit, Golani Brigade, and the elite Mobility Unit 5515.
