Israeli media: Yemen may push 'Israel' towards ceasefire in Gaza
Israeli media outlets have increasingly acknowledged that Yemen’s persistent resistance, economic pressure through missile strikes, and growing regional influence are forcing "Israel" toward reconsidering its war on Gaza.

Israeli Channel 12 has confirmed that Yemen may be pressuring "Israel" toward reaching an agreement to end the war on the Gaza Strip and secure the return of Israeli captives. This development comes amid Sanaa’s unwavering support for Gaza and its continued enforcement of a blockade against the occupation.
The channel urged the Israeli occupation government to halt its military campaign in Gaza, warning that the country is "paying a very high price." It also called for establishing an official commission of inquiry to help "prevent another October 7."
Regarding Yemen’s efforts to impose a no-fly zone over "Israel," Channel 12 remarked, “One Yemeni missile per week is enough to see what happens to Ben Gurion Airport.”
The report noted that Air India has again postponed direct flights to "Israel," with service not expected to resume until at least June 19.
The channel highlighted Yemen as a unique and formidable challenge, describing the situation as "complicated" and adding that Yemen “cannot be defeated” due to its possession of hundreds of ballistic missiles.
Mighty United States did not defeat Yemen
In an interview with Channel 12, Yedioth Ahronoth journalist Ronen Bergman criticized both the United States and "Israel" for their failure to defeat Yemen.
Despite the full might of CENTCOM and Israeli intelligence, he said, they have not succeeded in defeating the Yemenis—"because they simply cannot be defeated. They are content with little and inflict significant damage."
Channel 12 echoed Bergman's criticism, describing the US as a "large" power that nonetheless has been unable to overcome Yemen militarily. The channel emphasized that Washington has used far greater force against Yemen than it ever could against "Israel," yet still failed to achieve victory.
It also noted that President Donald Trump, after a month of intense airstrikes that cost billions of dollars, was ultimately forced to halt US attacks on Yemen, with the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman now preparing to leave the Middle East.
Israeli attacks in Yemen 'show'
Israeli Kan channel described recent Israeli strikes on Yemen as “a kind of show,” asserting that they neither deter Yemen nor impact its missile capabilities, and ultimately fail to address the underlying problem.
The channel also acknowledged that Yemeni missile attacks are damaging the Israeli economy, a direct consequence of the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
Former Israeli security minister Avigdor Lieberman added to the criticism, stating: “The Americans reached an agreement with Yemen and left us out.” In an interview with Channel 12, he noted that "the Yemenis attacked Israel during President Donald Trump’s visit to the region."
Commenting on the continuation of the war, Lieberman condemned it as “a war for Netanyahu’s safety,” arguing that its sole purpose is to preserve the current government coalition.
This wave of criticism from Israeli media follows an Israeli airstrike earlier today on the al-Salif Port and the al-Hodeidah Port, both in al-Hodeidah Governorate, along the Red Sea coast
Despite the attacks, authorities in Sanaa have reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Gaza. The two strategic maritime facilities were targeted simultaneously, marking a significant escalation by the Israeli occupation. Meanwhile, a US military official told Al Mayadeen that American forces did not participate in the Israeli raids on Yemen.
